An opportunity popped on my radar. It was interesting. Great title. Great pay. But it came with negatives I don't want or need in my life. Further, it didn't afford the opportunity to make an impact in a way that I value. I seriously considered it. Then I took a step back; looked at it from a different perspective What do I really want? Title? Pay? Ability to make a difference? Something else? I realized I want to make an impact. Title and pay take 2d/3d place. I passed. When a new shiny opportunity arises, vet it fast and hard. Don't let the bling blind you. Know what's important and stay focused.
